Blue & White In A Summer Garden

When the seasons change I begin to look around at making changes in my wardrobe, home and yard.

Summer is upon us and I love to put blue in my garden. I think by adding blue in the garden it makes for a cooler feeling atmosphere with our hot weather that we have here in California.

I am going to our local nursery tomorrow to find some blue and white combinations in flowers to add to my yard.

I already have a good base going in my backyard with my color choices in my home and furniture…….

I chose to paint the back of my home a soft sage green and accent it with the bright cobalt blue.

I thought it would be fun to see some other pretty blues in the garden to inspire you and me!!

A large pot turned on its side with simple planting of blue lobelia spilling out. I could do this!!

Simple blue, and white pansies add a touch of blue to the garden as well as the bright blue pot holding the Japanese Maple.

I hope I can find a nice variety of blue flowering plants to add to my back yard. This image shows how using one color can really make a lovely statement.

By adding blue, and white garden stools and a striped rug this area becomes a cool retreat from the summer heat.

Clustering blue and white porcelain gives this outdoor space an elegant feel.

Painting this ornate mirror blue is a wonderful backdrop to the green of the plants and looks great on the red brick.

By adding a few accents of blue to your yard it can appear cooler.

When ever blue and white are paired together the space will have an elegant look.

Blue and white curtains make a wonderful ethereal look. Notice the large tassels holding back the curtains.

I can’t wait to go to the nursery tomorrow to see what blue flowering plants I can find for my yard.

I love to mix blue and white and lime green foliage together. Adding texture with plants is a great way to add interest to your yard.

Shopping For Summer Sandals

When summer arrives it is time to put the shoes in boxes, and bring out all the cute summer flats and sandals.

On most days you will find me in my reef flip-flops around the house. I like the slap, or fanning style for the support they give, and they are beyond comfy.

Comfy yes, but not particularly cute or stylish. I have been shopping online for some cute sandals. I have a few colors in mind.

Gold
Leopard
Bright green

I thought it would be fun to show you all what I have found so far.
GOLD

I thought this sandal by Michael Kors was simple and yet it could be a bit more dressy because of the little wedge.

Love the gold chain across the strap, It almost has a Greek Key look to it. I also like the slight wedge for a little lift. One other thing about these sandals is they look quite comfy.

Speaking of comfort shall we look at some cute and comfy gold sandals?……..

Born is always comfy. This casual sandal has gold, silver and bronze all mixed in one sandal.

Another cute but comfy sandal by Sperry.

Cole Haan is also known for a comfortable shoe. I love that comfort can be cute.

BRIGHT GREEN

Comfort and Cuteness all wrapped up in one sandal by Born.

I could not believe how hard it was to find a bright green sandal. This is the only one I found. If you all know of any please let me know in the comments!

LEOPARD

Leopard is a neutral in my wardrobe, summer and winter. My darling DIL came for a visit to my house and she was sporting the cutest leopard sandal.

The extra treat about this sandal is, it also has some gold. It looks simple and uncomplicated on your foot too. Love that!

It is on sale right now at Macy’s!

These are rated very high on the comfort level so I think it is worth a trip to DSW to see what they look like in person.

So there you have it!! A few summer sandals for you to consider.

Did you purchase any new sandals for this summer?

GRATITUDE

I don't normally have a video on my blog, but I truly feel this one is worth watching.

Sometimes when it feels like life has handed us an unfair situation we lose sight of how blessed we truly are.

I am constantly reminded of the goodness and grace of God. We don't have to look far to see his hand in everything.

I think this video is something that we all need to keep so we can look back on it and be reminded of how blessed we truly are.

I hope it touches your heart as much as it did mine.
