Loving Lime!!

I do love the color lime so I looked around to see what I could find as some options for Thanksgiving tables. Lime with brown looks amazing together as seen in these rooms……

Now for some Thanksgiving Table setting Inspiration!!

Okay not really Thanksgiving, but it is food related. Moving right along….

Great idea to use potted plants and candles down the center of the table and it is all reusable after the Holiday.

Another plant idea! How about various succulents in a brown wooden box as a centerpiece.

This is a great inspiration board.

Simple orchids floating in cylinders on a beautiful brown cloth.

Speaking of Limes how about limes and mums, Perfect!!

Another simple use of limes.

Simple and elegant done by the Style Sisters.

How about a vase full of these lovely lime lilies.

Simple ribbon and runner cut with pinking shears. Add white pumpkins and lime colored pears and you have a great lime and brown combo.

I think the addition of lime just perks the whole table setting up!!!

Would You Use These Colors For Your Thanksgiving Table???

I am looking for inspiration for my Tday table. It will be here before we know it and now is the time to start pulling it together.

In looking I tried to find different color combinations that might be doable with the dishes and glassware that I already have.

Have you ever thought of using purple and linen?
Here are some pictures to inspire you.

Leave it to Martha Stewart to make an elegant table. Although there is no table cloth, the table gives the color of linen and the addition of purple is lovely.

I love this picture. It shows how beautifully silver or pewter will go with this color combination.

Soft and lovely.

 

The last three pictures are my Tday table from last year.



 I used a silver Revere bowl and placed my silver 3 candle, candleholder inside of it and placed the flowers around the base of the candleholder.

 I already had the other candle holders and the silver pheasant. I found the purple votive holders at a thrift store as well as the goblets. I made the runners with iron-on tape. The linen table cloth is from Target. I had a letter “P” monogrammed on the corner in cream.

 This was a very different color combination for me to use. It is fun to shake things up a bit. Are you all doing something different with your table this year?

I plan on doing a few more post of different color combinations that might be fun for our Tday tables.

How Do You Like Your Candles?

How do you like your candles might seem like a strange question, but I think after you read this post it might make more sense.

I have a pet peeve when it comes to candles. I was talking to a good friend the other day and we both agreed on this issue.

I love candles and I use them in my home all the time. So what problem could I have with candles. Wellllll, let me show you………..

Woodland Creatures???? Seriously???

 

 

I ask you, “How attractive is it to see a woodland creature, soldier, rocking horse or sweet doves melt right before your eyes.

Did any of you see the movie The House of Wax with Vincent Price? If you did not see it, trust me it is not pleasant to see wax that has been formed into the form of a living being and then melt right before your eyes!!

Okay maybe I am being a bit dramatic, but I really do not like candles in any shape other than, pillars, columns, or tapers.

The other little peeve I have is when candles are displayed, but never lit. I remember Martha Stewart saying you should always have a candle wick blackened from use if it is on display. So ladies light those candles and blow it out if you must, but make it looked like it was used.

I love, love candles in what I like to consider the more traditional form……..

There is also an ongoing debate on whether to use colored tapers or all white. I like both. I think the white can look classic and the color can look young and fresh. My friend Eddie Ross always does such amazing table settings using colored tapers. I always get so inspired by his talent. Here are a few of his gorgeous tables using colored tapers……….
