Today's post is going to give you some easy-to-do tips that will help keep things in your closets a bit more organized.
I am sure we all think if we had a closet like the one pictured below it would not be any problem keeping it neat and tidy.
However, most of us don't have this luxury so we have to be a bit more creative.
I am going to share three easy tips that have helped me in the past.
Are you ready to be blown away?
When
you take a piece of clothing off of the hanger, take the hanger, and put
it at the beginning of the clothes rack. Now you won't have empty
hangers among your clothing, nor do you ever have to hunt for a hanger.
I
told you it would rock your world!! Okay, maybe that is an exaggeration,
but it really is a simple thing to do and makes life a little easier.
My next life changing tip has to do with color.
COLOR CODING IN YOUR CLOSET
This is a very simple process and you can decide on your own how you want to color code you personal closet.
Personally I go from lights to darks, solids to patterns.
Professional organizers use the following acronym:
R-RED
O-ORANGE
Y-YELLOW
G-GREEN
B-BLUE
I-INDIGO
V-VIOLET
Of course we all have black and white in our closets, I always start with white, then black, and then colors.
I
do this mainly because I wear more black and white as my staple pieces
so having them first in my closet makes life easier for me.
PUTTING LIKE ITEMS TOGETHER
All blouses, shirts, pants, sweaters, skirts and dresses should be put together and color coded.
I
take it one step further, and put sleeveless, then short sleeve then
long sleeved shirts together, and the same process with my dresses.
Do you have any special little tips that you do when organizing your closets?
Leave a comment and share with the rest of us, we love new ideas!!

Thanks for the tips. I will keep these in mind when I organize my closet in the coming weeks. I do move my empty hangers to the front of my clothes. Little things make such a difference.
Great tips and I also remove empty hangers, and color code too. I'm about to have a brand new closet in our brand new house. I hired a closet designer and she used every square inch. I've never had a walk in closet so i can hardly wait.
I started color coding a little while back. It helps me select things much more easily. My closet is pretty small so any organizing tip is useful. Wouldn't you just flip to have one of those closets!
I love the hanger tip...I am always shuffling around the closet trying to find a loose one.
I color coded my closet years ago. I cannot believe what a difference it makes.
I do not hang like items together, though. I also like to leave the hanger right where it was, because the garment will go right back on that hanger.
My coats and jackets get hung at the beginning of the closet, then pajamas, then: black, white, followed by the colors.
Wonderful tips, thanks so much for sharing.
My closet is so small! We are in the process of a big rehab project and soon I will have two closets made out of cedar from the 1940s! However, they are still not as big as your picture and yes, we do have to get creative! :) Love your ideas!
This post came at just the right time: spring cleaning and organizing!!! I love the color coding - makes so much sense. And yes, even us guys like to have an organized and stylish closet. Happy Easter weekend, Kathysue!
Cheers,
L
I keep my work clothes in the order I have worn them to work. So today's outfit goes to the far left; tomorrow's is to the far right. I can't remember what I wore to work somive used this system for years. Love the ideas!
I love your empty hanger tip, I am always on the hunt when putting the clothes away. I have colour coded & hung like with like for years now & love how tidy & organised it makes the WIR look!!
