Summer vacations
are just about over, but the Summer weather continues until October
where I live so I still have some Summer decorating to do around here.
This past weekend I worked on my mantel adding a few summer elements to the mix.
I
have to admit, my home usually looks dressed for Summer/Spring months
because of my color scheme, but I still like to shake it up a bit.
This is a fresh look for Spring, but I wanted to add a few elements that reminded me of summer.
In comes the beach……..
Glass balls full of bubbles remind me of being under water!
Add a shell and it equals=
SUMMER MANTEL
Still simple enough for me without too much going on.
I also had a blueprint of a sailboat framed in a simple white frame, and mat with an inset of black with a white beveled edge.
I wanted the blueprint to stand out so I kept the framing simple.....
Here is a close-up......

Next will be the addition of a few summer pillows, hopefully they will be coming in this week.
As Always……

Love it Kathysue! Of course you need to change your mantle for summer....right! And add a few new pillows.....!

As always, your home and everything you do looks just beautiful. Have a great week. Mona
Love the new touches!
So fresh!
I love the summer look...it looks like your at a beach cottage...
Great looks! I have three glass balls, small, medium and the large one is exactly like yours. (also an antique one that was my Grandmother's) They are somewhere, on display, most of the time. Sometimes I display one, and other times all three. Gee I never thought of them as being underwater? You amaze me. Two of them are now sitting on top of crystal candle sticks that are two different heights. The large ball is on the table and the other two are where you would place a candle .....if you were "normal"!
You know I love it, Kathysue...perfect in every detail! Thanks so much for sharing at the Scoop!...hugs...Debbie
Beautifully done!
The mantel looks fantastic! I love those glass bubble balls. They're beautiful and perfect for the beach look.
Our weather stays pretty warm through September. So, I'm not ready for Fall decor yet, either.
