Ever since I read the book by Carolyne Roehm, “A Passion For Blue” it made me want to find out a little bit more about this amazing woman.
In researching, I ran across an article in Veranda magazine about a garage/tag sale that she had. Now you must understand this was not a typical sale.
This sale has been elevated to a level like no other garage/tag sale that I have ever seen.
I know the summer months are full of garage sales on every weekend. Somehow I doubt that I will ever see one like this:
Over-sized vases full of sunflowers were brought in, and also sold at the end of the sale.
I have seen these at Homegoods, and Cost Plus. I think I need these for my patio.
Preparing items for pricing.
Everything you might need, or want for a 4th of July celebration!
I will take five of each please. Notice how all the picnic tables have been given a coat of white paint. Nothing but the best going on here.
Pretty amazing wouldn’t you say?!
There are garage sales, and then there are events! Oh to be able to attend such an event, now wouldn’t that be wonderful?
I know you can find amazing items at garage sales whether they are displayed this wonderfully or not.
I just had to show you the way a professional does it. You can read the full article in Veranda here.

Not a garage sale at all, more like an estate sale. What an event! I would love to buy all those red glasses!
I'm working an estate sale now that belonged to a collector and antique dealer. She collected everything from colored glass to Murano glass to figurines to crystal. It won't be your average garage sale for sure.
Carolyne's work caught my attention years ago. She had a book published on holding "events" etc. Her talents are many!!!
Thanks for bringing her to everyone!
This just awesome! I have loved Carolyne since seeing an article about her in Domino magazine. Love ,love her style!

Now that would of been fun to go to...I saw several sail boats at Home Goods today...I thought about you..did you find one?
Oh my gosh! I would have driven up 6 hours to attend this garage sale!! (Guessing it was at her home in CT.) With my empty station wagon of course :) I have found some really awesome things at garage sales over the years - garden pots, old books and Christmas ornaments. I especially love my collection of used art, design and garden books.
Great post, Kathysue!

To have been there, HOW FUN! Definitely the ultimate garage sale!
Just love it.......and all the goodies, I would have had to show up in an 18 wheeler!
I wish there were some events around here! Our garage sales in the area don't seem to be very good. But again, you NEVER know! Hope all is well!

What a fun post, Kathysue! Sadly, our "events" look more like the typical garage sale... We should definitely refer back to this article when we're ready to raise the bar! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
