SMILING MEMORIES

Do you ever see something and it evokes a pleasant memory?

Sometimes you can remember exactly where you saw, smelled or heard it. There are other times it just makes you smile, and you are not quite sure why.

I have a couple of things that make me smile for one of the above reasons.

Every time I see a sheer voile curtain blowing in the gentle breeze it will bring a smile to my face…..

Can’t you just feel the gentle breeze?

My next smiling memory involves sound more than sight.

I only wish I could duplicate the sound of a……..

……..Screen door slamming. Remember the creaking, squeaking sound, then the SLAM!!?

Do you share in my smiling memories, or maybe you have your very own special smiling memory.

What brings a smile to your face every time you see, hear or smell it?

HAPPY MAY DAY!

Love this.....hum,an ice cream truck playing his telltale music (dont' hear them much anymore) but when I do it makes me smile. I love being reminded of something wonderful from earlier years through various sights and sounds.....

Mine almost always have to do with when my kids were younger. They say or do something that takes me right back ten years, to our first house, and a memory of them being so adorable I could eat them :)

What a wonderful post. For me- A glider on the front porch that squeaks, the crack of a bat on a ball, fire flys . Magical sounds and sights. Oh, and roses in a Mason Jar.

The sound of tires over an open bridge, the sound of seagulls and seeing the first firefly of the season.

The smells, sounds and sight of the ocean bring back beautiful family memories of my childhood.

I love this blog post. I , too, have the screen door memories. So visceral. Also, the smell of cut grass triggers a memory of my dad.

I love this post about memories. I, too, have screen door memories. It's visceral. Also, related to screen doors in the summer, the smell of cut grass triggers memories of my Dad.

Thanks for the sweet reminders.

Evertime I smell the scent from a hedge of boxwoods I think of the country club in the NC mountains where we spent nearly every summer day growing up. Very happy memories! Thanks for reminding me!

slamming screen door memories.. and that voile curtain reminds me of a Andrew Wyeth painting. I was nuts about his work in college. Lovely to revisit memories! Have a great weekend.

I love and really miss the smell of fresh cut grass. That really makes me smile. Also when you can smell the rain storm coming. I can feel the electricity in the air. Ok, and I really miss the visual beauty of the woods in all their fall glory and the feel of the crispness in the air. I get so happy because it reminds me of my childhood home back in western Pennsylvania. I live in northern California now and just don't get the opportunities like back East.
