Does Halloween Have To Be Scary?

Halloween does not have to be scary!! In fact I insist that it is either pretty, or cute. I already did a post on pretty and sophisticated, so now I think it is time for some cuteness………

Your little Trick or Treaters will need to have dinner before they go out and collect their desserts. Why not make it fun instead of just plain old Spaghetti and meatballs!!!

This is soooo cute!!! I love the fun non scary spin you put on Halloween (well, all except for the teeth..haha). Many beautiful and super creative ideas here. For someone like me, who truly is the biggest scaredy cat of all and I kid you not, this is right up my alley!! That first picture is AMAZING!!
Have a great day Kathysue!

Kathysue,
What a great post! Like you, I believe we as parents make things scary. My children aren't afraid of spiders, animals, snakes, etc...it is all in the "marketing" of how we present. Lovely presentations here! So cute, fun and inviting. I just went through all of these with my two kids and they LOVED it all! Enthusiastically yelling "mom, can we do that to every image!" Have a great weekend...hope it is fun filled!

Adorable! We do scary at our house, but I love looking at cute. Love the pumpkin ideas. You'll have to check out the Linus pumpkin that Kim from Maiden D'Shade linked up to my BBTT party. Right up your alley.

Love the witch legs on the party table - I may have to use that on one of the tables this year. Love the frankenstein pudding cups, too. I actually used that last year. Thanks for all the inspiration pics!

I agree with you, I think halloween has become a little gross and I still like the vintage, goofy halloween :0) Thanks for the ideas too! I will def HAVE to make those ghost footprints with my baby :0) Thanks!

Darling, darling ideas. I am saving this post to my files to remember and copy some of the ideas. I think some of the stuff that is out and about today is way over the top of good taste...and I'm not talking food here! xo Diana

Great ideas - I get jealous seeing all the American inspiration and planning for Halloween because we don't really do it here in Australia although the idea of trick or treating is slowly taking off.

I agree, Kathysue! Halloween does not have to be scary. In fact, I went to a fabulous dance presentation now a yearly event here where I live called "Thriller". Tickets are sold out weeks in advance. People were laughing all the way through. I was completed freaked out! I like my Halloween to be about the harvest and witches, and to keep it "nice" (a little wicked doesn't hurt, but to a certain point). Hate horror movies! Love the inspiration, Kathysue. Enjoy your weekend!

I'm practically jumping up and down with excitement over these ideas!!! My oldest son LOVES pasta...so how easy is that little trick. Marshmellows and apple slices - easy peasy and they will go nuts!!!

And, I'm a huge fan of the adorable pumpkin carvings above. I have to admit, I love Halloween but am much more about the fun aspect than the scary.

Have a great weekend and thanks for the brilliant ideas!!
