When an adult is going to stay I add a shelf with things that they could possibly need while they are staying here…….
Toys have been removed.
A stack of fresh, fluffy white towels tied with a green striped ribbon, and a bucket full of items that might be needed.
Decorating magazines and a bottle of water in a green glass.
Inside are all the little items they might need.
That is how I turn my playroom into a guest room fit for adults.
This playroom is turning out to be quite versatile.

Kathysue, what you have is a beautiful multi-purpose room! You are very talented. I love the little sofa!

Is it a twin or a full size bed?
Kathysue, I was afraid I had somehow missed the reveal of your playroom. I've been so busy these past two weeks, I'm just catching up. I've just read all three posts. You did an absolutely incredible job on the playroom. Every little detail so well planned and executed. I know you had a ball doing this and your family has to just love it. Great job! Happy sleep-overs. Mona
Such a cute room and I know the children love it and it also makes a fabulous guest room. Gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
I love rooms that can have more than one use, and yours is pretty as well. I like how the loveseat fits right in there between the bookcases. I'm a fan of blue and green, so I really love your accessories like the bottles. Like you, we have little necessities for guests in case they forgot something.
Our guest room, guest bathroom and tv room is in our basement and is my parent's former suite. We still have lots to do in decorating it, but I love having the extra space.
I always, always love a multi purpose room and you did really well!
So thoughtful of you to have all the essentials for your guests.
Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend, Kathysue!

All that great planning that you did has created a really beautiful and functional space. I'd love to stay there!!
I am so happy to finally have a REAL guest room with bath! One thing I feel is essential is hair dryer and straightener in the bathroom! Also, I am about to buy two nice white waffle weave bathrobes. Wow, sounds like a luxury hotel...now I just need to provide breakfast delivered to the room!
Have a nice weekend Kathysue!
Great ideas...I always add fresh flowers to the room as well and hang a gender neutral bathrobe on the bathroom door.
I really don't know what happened to Murphy beds. I think they are more comfortable, although pull outs are getting better. Rooms have to multi-task, and the playroom/guest program is a good one. Thanks for coming by.
Best,
Liz
Can I make a reservation?!!
Ingenuous, Kathysue. Love the colors and the way you transform the bookshelves!!
I always try to leave a wonderful robe as well, lighter in summer, heavier in winter. If it is a special guest.........they get to take it home. And a profusion of fresh flowers, a nice clock, and a petite gift wrapped just for them. Happy weekend. XO
Perfect! This is the push I needed to carry on with making a corner of my bedroom as my workspace!
Loving the colors in the playroom/guest room! Looking good:-)
Just found your blog and I am enjoying reading it.
I love your guest room, when can I come over?
You are so thoughtful and concerned for your guest's comforts.

I want to come and be a house guest!!! You've thought of everything!!!
I do try and prepare my guest room so that it has the things that make a room more inviting...fresh flowers, current magazine, lots of fluffy towels and some extra toiletries.
Hope you've had a wonderful weekend!
