I AM The Goldilocks Of “Green!”

How can someone that had a career choosing colors for clients for over thirty years not get it right the first time?

 It had to do with being fixated on the word, “Bright!”

It also had to do with choosing a color that went well with all of the fabrics being used.
I know from experience my greens have to have a little bit of yellow and a little bit of blue base to them. But yellow base greens are what looked best with the  fabrics. So, I tried yellow base greens against my better judgement!!

When I finally went with my instincts and chose a medium value green with a base of blue and yellow I found my green, read on…………

 Goldilocks said, "Noooooo! It’s way to bright!!"

How does he love me let me count the ways…….. He paints the room not once, not twice but three times to make his, “Goldilocks of Green,” Happy as can be.

And they lived happily ever after.

Two Color Combinations for One Room!!

Why would one room need two color combinations?  If you are designing a playroom that will be used by two boys and one girl you need to make the room look either like a boy's room or a girl's room.

 I have three wonderful grandchildren that come to stay with me from time to time. Ever since they were babies they have had their own room in my home.

They are all growing up and there are no longer any babies, so it is time to upgrade their room.

When my darling grandsons stay with us, I use the navy, lime and turquoise color scheme with these fabrics…………

When  my sweet granddaughter stays with us, we use  pink, navy, lime, turquoise color scheme with these fabrics…………..

Now you get the picture, right? I switch out some accessories and Voila!! I have a room suitable for boys or, a room suitable for a girl!!

This is fun for them and also for me, I must admit!!

Lots of painting, shopping and planning have been taking place. It will be awhile until it is all done, and I am sure I will be tweaking for awhile, but I am really excited and enjoying the process.

 Of course, that is easy for me to say since I am having fun and poor hubby is doing all the manual labor.

So what do you think of what you see so far???

I wonder what color I will be painting the walls?? Any guesses?

Another Color Combination to Think About?!!!

As I wrote in my previous post, I like to find images showing color combinations that I plan on using in a room that I am designing.

Today I am going to show you another color combination that I will be using in the same room re-do.

 I know that sounds a bit odd, but you will see once it is all pulled together!!! I promise.

So today’s color combination I am contemplating is a little more feminine than yesterdays combo……..
