My Easter Table In Pale Blue and White

 

This years Easter Table is wearing four dozen white tulips, and it is draped in a very pale blue vintage cloth.

The table is set, the Easter goodies are in pretty bags, the Easter eggs are all in a basket waiting to be hidden……

Each place setting has it’s own special egg in a spoon with the guest name, and a sweet white tulip that makes a cross on each plate.

Very soft blue, and white are the only colors you will find on my table this year, other than the beautiful Spring green stems of the tulips which tie in nicely with the green, and white striped wallpaper in the background.



The plates are missing their tulips in this picture. I will place them on the plates before the guest arrive so they will stay fresh.








I brought in my Wedgwood blue vintage lamps to tie in with the tables color scheme.

Once the guest arrive and we get ready to sit down for dinner the large arrangements will moved to the buffet table and dessert table. Mr. Bunny-Boy gets to stay!

The meal is planned, the food is all prepped now I am looking forward to enjoying time with my family tomorrow.

As much as I enjoy the eating, story telling, laughing, and the egg hunt, I always remember what this day is truly all about......

Are You Busy Prepping For Easter?

   

I am sure we are all busy getting ready for Easter by now. I have been working on my yard this week. Planting some fresh flowers in the front, and backyard.

I decided to use purple, pinks and whites in the backyard. As you are about to see my house is painted a different color in the back than it is in the front. Yes!, you heard right.

I chose to use a cooler color pallet in the backyard by using a soft sage green with cobalt blue accents.

Our summers get very hot here in our part of California so I wanted to make it cooler back here.

This first picture shows a small flower bed where I have purple pansies, white allysum and bright purple/pink bougainvillea. The cobalt blue pot holds a draping Japanese maple that is just getting its pretty lacy leaves.

The giant P on the fence was purchased last Fall at the Alameda Pointe Antique Flea Market. When I first saw it, it was covered in dirt and actually looked like marble, but on closer examination I realized it was just dirt.

I had three friends with me that encouraged me to get it and I am so glad they did. I asked how much and she said $5, Seriously?! Then she added, “no extra charge for the dirt.”

As I cleaned it up, I found out it was an old neon light. It still has the neon light inside. I really need to explore about getting it fixed. If not, I will just have Hubby put lighting inside. I think it will look so cool at night all lit up!

Another cobalt pot, this time with a lime tree surrounded by pansies.




This soft sage green pot with blue accents holds a palm right by the patio door.

I took this picture in bright morning sunlight so the ivy covered fence looks a bit bleached out, but I had to show you the maple. Right now is when it is at its best, all new bright red leaves, I love the contrast with the green background.

This pot holds our lemon tree by the steps going to our pool slide on the deck.






This shows the pool at dusk. The white object in the middle is a fountain. I love the sound of trickling water.



This picture was taken last year before we hung the “P” on the fence. We eat out here when the weather allows.










A comfy place to sit. The monogrammed pillow comes from Pottery Barn.

Another comfy place to sit and visit.

This is where we will be on Easter Sunday with our family. There will be croquet, and of course the traditional Easter Egg hunt.

What Colors Will Be In Your Spring Garden?

  



Are you starting to get ready for Easter? I am working on my flower beds and adding some fresh new flowers.
 

I love to plant fresh flowers in my flower beds. This years Easter colors are soft yellow, purple, and white.

I  already have a nice backdrop to add color with the white cyclamen in the flower beds  from the winter. 

The cyclamen will be replaced with soft lilac and white impatiens once the cyclamen start to fade.









This is the planter to the right of my French door. I love the black planters, and I have to have a lantern to burn at night, I love the glow of candlelight.

I get the prayer candles in glass containers so they won't melt all over. The glass holder contains the wax even if it gets soft or melted from the hot sun.

In this image you can see that my soft yellow house is trimmed in black. I love the contrast. It is also a nice introduction to my entry hall floors which are black and white marble.

I always have fun planting this cast iron planter. It will be much prettier when the impatiens start to spill over the edge.

This cement pot is to the left of the front door. It is old, and chipped, but I don’t mind, I think it adds to its character. In the center I have a lime colored lemon juniper, it actually smells like lemons.

I think purples, and yellows just say, “Easter!” I usually use pinks, but this year I thought I would try something new. I am glad I did. I am really enjoying this look.

All whites with different textures and shades of green. I find this to be so interesting. I like to use different textures and shades of green to add interest to my garden flower beds.

You can never go wrong with purples and pinks, notice the lime green foliage, and how it really makes the purple pop.

Lavender pansies, bright pink geraniums and lime creeping jenny make a great combination in this pot.

I hope this has inspired you to do some Spring planting. Easter is only FIVE days away.

I need to get off the computer and get some more planting done. I am off to my backyard. I will be using purples, whites and pinks back there!!
