Do You Like The Color GREEN?!

 

In January I declared my own personal color choice for 2012, Kelly Green.

As time marches on it appears that Green is a lot of peoples color of the year.

It is on several major design magazine covers and I got my Wisteria catalog the other day and fell in love with the cover.

I was so attracted to the green pots on the console. The freshness of the shot really caught my eye.

I love this wonderful warm green, and the shapes are so interesting. I really like the short squatty pot with the handles, and the bowl!

I don’t think there is any color combination that is as fresh as green and white. I am in love with the over sized fern prints.

There is another color combination that I actually love with the freshness of green and white. 

 Add a touch of blue and white to green and you add a soothing touch to the freshness of the green and white combination.

There Is A First Time For Everything!

 

I don’t normally talk about recipes on my blog, in fact I am not sure that I have ever done a post on a recipe.

I am stepping out of my box because I have found two really great and easy recipes to share with you.

I found them on Pinterest , of course. If you visit my boards you will see three boards dedicated to food. One Healthy food-Healthy living, Food and Appetizers!

The first recipe falls in the Food category. I think is is so easy and good enough to possibly impress company!! I am all about easy, good tasting and impressive all wrapped up in a recipe and by wrapped up, this one literally is wrapped up!!

It is a chicken breast stuffed with cream cheese filling and wrapped in puffed pastry. I kid you not, this recipe was sooo easy to make and full of flavor.

I tweaked it just a tad: It calls for Spring onions (green onions,) I just received my farm fresh produce box, and it had fresh organic leeks so I used those chopped.

I also used real, not fake bacon bits instead of the type of bacon she used.

The only suggestion I have on this recipe is to have all ingredients chopped, and lined up before proceeding. I found it to be much easier that way. I have made this twice and both times  ♥♥♥ it!

A chicken breast stuffed with zucchini, mozzarella and Romano cheese, covered in bread crumbs, and baked until crisp.

Best part one serving is 171 calories. For a main dish, you can not beat that one!!

My very first cooking post!!! I love good food, and I will do what it takes to make it taste good with-in reason, but I am not a gourmet cook. I have always said I would rather set a pretty table than cook the meal.

I found this room to look so inviting for a family dinner. Love the rustic touches with the elegance of the mirror. The full bank of windows doesn’t hurt either. I do love lots of light!!

I could just see the above table with a table setting like this one……. ( I personally might use a few less elements, but the general look and feel go with the above dining room, IMHO)

Can You Help A Girl Out?

As you all have read on my blog I am about to make some changes in my master bedroom.

These changes are somewhat welcomed, but not totally. I know most of you probably think I must be nuts, too not be excited about getting a new piece of furniture.

After all, it is not as if I get a new bed every day. In fact this will be our third bed, and by bed I mean the actual bed not the mattress.

We are upgrading to a Cal-king bed instead of a queen.

Where the problem lies is in the fact that I love my room just the way it is except we do need a bigger mattress to sleep more comfortably.( Yes, I am a snorer!)

I am actually duplicating the bedding that I have now with Pottery Barn’s Grand Hotel bedding in Sandalwood. The sandalwood color is a wonderful compliment to the wood frame of my new headboard, and foot board.

To refresh your memory here is a picture of a bed that is very similar to what I am getting, but mine has a foot board and the headboard is slightly curved at the top.  

This bed is from Wisteria and mine is from Ethan Allen. The wood is very similar to the wood on this frame and I even have a cream bachelors chest as one of my nightstands

This bed has a natural linen inset and my bed will have a cream linen inset to pull the cream from the other furniture in the room.

I also have to get new sheets.  I like them to be soft, and almost have that worn out feel, you know how wonderfully soft they get right before your big toe goes through the sheet, and shreds it?

I have another problem, they need to be very pale blue. I have a set of white sheets, but I need a set of pale blue also.

My question is: What sheets do you love that are at a reasonable price point, and have an extremely soft hand?

One more semi-problem: A couple of my friends that have King sized beds have told me I will need enough pillows on the back of the bed to make it look full, and fluffy. It has been suggested that I use three Euro’s with two pillows in front of those.

The dilemma is: I am not sure I want three Euro’s. I like my stacked pillows so I am seriously thinking of using two kings on the bottom and two standard size pillows on top of that, or just two kings stacked.

I know I will probably be able to tell better once the bed gets here, but I am  a planner. I like a clean uncluttered look so too many pillows kind of unnerves me.

There you have it, I need sheets!! Do I get three Euros or go with the stacked pillow look?
