My Simplified Summer Porch

My porch has a new look thanks to my talented DIL. She helped me out one day, and took everything off my porch, cleaned it off, and changed the look up a bit.

I love the clean simple look. It was fun for me to see how she envisioned my porch.

Here is  how my porch looked last year in the fall…….

She simplified the look by taking the lamp off the table, and adding white pillows that I had on my couch. She added a pop of green with my large green vase and filled it with white flowers.

I love the white pillows with the black cushions, they just pop!!

I am one lucky lady to have such a helpful, talented DIL!!!

Seeing these pictures is making me want a new table!!!

Now I am on the quest for a new table!

What kind of table do you all think would look good sitting between my two chairs?

Oh Kathysue, it does look beautiful. Isn't it fun to have someone else change things up a bit. I really like it. As for a table, I like the black, how about something else wicker or a larger wrought iron. So pretty. Hugs, Marty

I love the new look. Its always fun to change things up. It might be fun to add a garden stool or a bigger irn table. Can't wait to see what you find.

Oh, such a nice spot to enjoy!! I think something just a bit bigger to let you have a place to set things would be great! Janell

I love the new, clean look! I would look for a table that is larger in diameter. Maybe a black painted wooden vintage table. The green vase looks great with the flowers, and I love the white pillows too. Your DIL did a great job!

Love the large green vase and the pop of color it provides. I think as far as a table goes you have lots of options. Glass top, painted wood. I know with your eye you will find something unique and just right.

love the new look. you and your dil should go into business together! While I dont normally care for matching sets I would choose a white wicker table to keep the look simple but look forward to seeing what you choose.

What a difference the few changes made. I think you just need a table a little larger.

Something that doesn't look like a table! :) franki

Looks great. I like how the white pillows make the porch look calm. About the table, I always like glass-top tables because they don't take up so much visual space. Is the table you have now capable of holding a round glass top that's bigger than the top of the table? Love your changes and, you know me, love the simplicity to be sure. Take care.

It's amazing what a fresh set of eyes can bring to a space! I love the white cushions!
I'm sure you'll find the perfect table... maybe something a bit larger with more surface space.
Have a happy day, Kathysue!

Kathy Sue, What a great porch. I love the back here and there... it is very clean and crisp! Why don't you put a little white painted chest between the chairs. You could keep coasters, fans, bug spray etc. in the drawers.

Okay, I was somehow drawn to your site because of the interesting green plant in your garden. Would you share its identify.

However, as you inquired of "our" two cents on your table selection, I'd suggest a little lower, black, wooden table, with square lines to make the round of your chairs pop and bring the height of the vase down a titch (visual, and for ease in visitation). Perhaps, one like this:

Thank you for the inspirtation. Love it when a friend offers her fresh pair of eyes to my little world. Enjoy your lovely porch.

Your porch is very bright and alive! I just love the overall mood set by the vibrant colors in your porch! Anyway, your porch looks like a painting that’s excellently done with smooth brush strokes! Good job!
