Kathysue's First Tablescape Thursday All Dressed up for Easter

I looked at the calendar yesterday and I realized that Easter is April 4th, Yikes!! It made me realize I need to get a move on. I have already purchased one element for the Easter table. The darling turqouise ceramic egg holder from Anthropologie, You can read about it here. I went to my inspiration files and I have a couple of ideas in mind that I will post on that later. With Easter in mind I thought I would post my table from last year. It all started with Mr. Bunny-boy, then came the moss ; the clay pots; the flowers and....... You get the point, here I will just show you.........

I wanted a bright and cheerful table this year so the pink damask print was a perfect starting point. I found the bright yellow plates at the famous Dollar store and the bright pink place mats at Big-Lots. The white plates are my every day dishes. The goblets are vintage cranberry Royal crown. You will notice the moss is actually a roll of moss purchased at the flower mart for a wedding I was designing. All the clay pots I already had . I purchased the gerbera daisies and allysum from the nursery and all the rocks came from my yard. I wanted it to look like a little forest scene. Here are a few more pictures of different angles.

The moss runner is 4 ft long and Mr Bunny Boy is about 30 inches high. I went with the big is better attitude on this table!

I hope you enjoyed hopping through my little forest scene. This was such an easy table to put together and I hope it will inspire some new ideas for your Easter Table.

"Enjoy the Process Of: Finding new ideas for your next Tablescape.

Kathysue, yay, you linked to a party. Oh, what a tablescape. Lots of thought and work went into that my friend. I just love it. I saw one of those big chocolate bunnies at HomeGoods the other day, but passed it up. It is funny how it really does look like real chocolate. Great table!!

Hi Kathysue,

It's fantastic --- and what a centerpiece! I love the way you've combined natural elements with colorful, whimsical ones. It was clever (and unexpected) of you to include the vintage Ruby stemware. I like mixing elegant with casual, old with new ... so much more interesting than making everything "matchy-matchy!"

Hope your weekend goes well!

Bill

Kathysue,
You are right on it with all the new natural looks from Pottery Barn, Ballard's and all the other big style stores. Using the moss and all the natural elements is very pretty and dramatic.
I love your total look.

That turned out great! I didn't know you could buy moss in a roll. I wouldn't have thought of doing it, but now I won't forget it! That is really an impressive centerpiece!

Ideas? You gave me more than ideas, I think I will just copy it exactly as it is fabulous (is that bad to copy?). Maybe I will just add a couple petite gifts so I feel like I didn't copy exactly. Gorgeous!

This is absolutely precious, Kathysue! I love the moss edged with the stones...great idea! And you don't have to worry with your flatware getting lost in the moss. Plus, it's GREEN! Love it! The bunny is awesome! I can't wait until Easter...those are such fun tablescapes. :)

I'm putting together a tablescape for a fundraising event. I want to do a moss table but I've read that they really smell - did you have any problems with this?
