10 gits for Men Under $50

The Thanksgiving feast is over, and now the Christmas Holiday season is officially open!!

After our dinner last night we were all stuffed, literally!! The music playing on my stereo was Christmas music. Talk about getting in the spirit!!

For some reason I awoke early this morning, and instead of hitting the streets with the crowds. I sat at my computer and did a little shopping.

I don’t know about you all, but don’t you find it hard to get gifts for the men in your life?

Throughout the year I like to gather ideas so this morning, since the shopping season is officially open I thought I would do my first official Christmas post with some gift ideas for men!!

This would be great hanging on the wall in his closet. No more looking for the key and phone, it now has an official landing spot!

Car trouble in the dark!! They can put this flashlight on and it will free-up their hands to change that flat tire, or to find the problem in the engine!!

A very handsome desk clock that will take up very little space on their desk.

How about jazzing up his own personal throw with  masculine belts? I think this makes a wonderful presentation.

If you want to make sure he doesn’t forget anything before heading out for the day, put this on the front door!!!

A battery with a USB plug on it that fits in his pocket for charging your phone when you aren't around any outlets for a long time (camping/beach/shopping etc)

When he is home he can use this charging deck and there won’t be a messy cord laying on top of the table or dresser! I love this idea!!

Here is another great little charging device!

For the traveling man! An easier way to weigh their luggage!!

For the man that wants to keep his skin looking better, or for the woman that wants her man’s skin to look better.

These are just a few ideas to get you started!!
It is Black Friday so I know you all will be wanting to get out there and find the bargains!!

My 2012 Thanksgiving table

It is the day before Thanksgiving, and the main dining table is done except for the fresh white mums that will be added on Thursday.

I will be using just a few white mums scattered among the pumpkins, and leaves on the table.

This years table is done in soft hues of sage, linen, wheat, and umber.

The napkins have been folded with a pocket to hold the silverware, and name tags that are entwined in the fork tines.

I used grocery bag handles that were just the right height, and color to go with my table. The names were written with a chalk pen.

The umber glasses are vintage Fostoria goblets purchased at a thrift store a few years ago. They always look so pretty on linen tablecloth.

I went for a simpler look this year. Sometimes less is more!

I will be tucking in a few white mums for a finishing touch.

The dessert table is ready to go, awaiting the pies
that are in the oven (thanks to my Mom!)

We have the marble slabs out for the cheese, and fruit table.

Today is the cook-ahead-all-that-you-can day!!

I know you are all in the middle of your own prepping, so I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my blog on such a busy day like today!!

I am so thankful for each, and every one of you. It is because of all of you that I continue to write this blog!!!

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving day, and may you and your loved ones continue to be blessed throughout the year!

The Pit-Fall of Writing A Blog During The Holidays!

Yes, there is a pit-fall if you write a blog during this time of year.

You get all inspired about the Holidays, you write down all of your plans,  all of your ideas not just for  your wonderful readers, but for yourself too.

By time the Holiday actually gets here you are DONE, at least mentally!!!

It feels as if you have already, planned, decorated, cooked the meal, set the table, and even eaten the meal.

The reality is none of the above except the planning has actually taken place.

It is almost anti-climatic!!

Do any of you feel that way?

I think we need to have our Thanksgiving like the Canadians do, in  October. That way there would be more time between the two holidays.

I know I will get all excited once I start cooking, and think about my family arriving, but I am being honest here I need to get my mo-jo back!!

So this morning I am calling in the troops.......

I bet you didn’t know there were really Thanksgiving Elves, did you? Well there are, and I have called in mine for help!

May the Thanksgiving Elves be with
YOU Too!!!!
