~Bouncing Right Along~

I found these tips about using BOUNCE fabric softener sheets the other day while perusing blogs. I am not even sure where I got it from.

If you see this and it is your list please let me know!! I will be glad to give credit where credit is due.

I love tip sheets for every day common items we only use one way. Finding out there are so many ways to use a softener sheets is always a plus in my book.

SHALL WE BOUNCE RIGHT ALONG?!

1. It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice.

2. Spread sheets around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle.

3. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often.

4. It repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce
through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.

5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen.

6. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.

7. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.

8. To freshen the air in your home - Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.

9. Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.

10. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew.

11. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing.

12. To freshen the air in your car - Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.

13. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean.
The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.

14. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.

15. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.

16. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.

17. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.

18. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.

19. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.

20. Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.

21. Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. It will keep them smelling fresh.

22. Wet a Bounce sheet, hose down your car, and wipe love bugs off easily with the wet Bounce.

23. Put a sheet of Bounce in your suitcase when traveling, it will help keep mites or any other critters out of it. While you are at it, travel with several Bounce sheets and run them up and down your bed linen before getting into bed, it will cause all the critters already in your bed to run. Keep a sheet in your suitcase even after you have unpacked to protect your suitcases from bugs nesting in it.

My own tip: I rub a dryer sheet on my pillows and the overlap on my sheets when I make my bed, it keeps them smelling fresh until I put fresh sheets on the bed.

I am not sure it has to be bounce or if other softener sheets will work. I personally use snuggles so maybe I will do a little snuggling!!!

Have a wonderful Sunday!!

10 Summer Outfits To Help You Stay Cool!

FRESH AND COOL SUMMER ATTIRE

What to wear when it is so blasted hot that you truly would rather be in as little clothing as possible but that might not be quite appropriate for all occasions?

I like to stay cool, and to look fresh in the summer months always trying to stay stylish, and age appropriate, not showing too much skin, if you know what I mean?

There are just certain sights people should not be viewing!!!

TEN Must Haves For A Cool Summer Wardrobe

White jeans, white skirts and walking shorts are staples in my wardrobe for the summer, but once-in-awhile I like to wear a cute maxi -dress, or  maxi-skirt.

Here is a line-up of some  outfits I have pinned for inspiration.

Some are perfect as they are, and others need to be a bit longer, or not as tight for me………

A long sheer skirt, and crisp white blouse is a cool alternative to long pants in the summer. Love the wide leather belt, and the simple gold flip-flops with this outfit.

If it is black, and white I am so THERE!!! A simple tunic with white walking shorts, and simple flip-flops is a classic summer staple.

Instead of white shorts a cute white skirt is just as cool, and comfy. Love the ribbon belt with the striped top.

Leave it to Ralph Lauren to pull together a simple, but chic shirtwaist dress, and make it look current, and fresh.

Simple chevron skirt, white t-shirt, and classic denim jacket  become fun when accented with a statement necklace in a cool turquoise. Brown sandals are a must!!

A classic denim shirt when placed with white walking shorts, and cute striped cardigan can become a classic summer staple in your wardrobe.

I would not normally wear a strapless dress, but with a little denim jacket this would make a darling going shopping, or going to a barbecue  outfit. Love the pop of yellow!

THINK LONGER FOR ME!

As I mentioned in my first paragraph some of these outfits would need to be a bit longer for me, and these are examples of that very statement!

Love the combinations and would wear each outfit, if and only if the bottoms were longer!! Can you say, “Age Appropriate?!”

I have a few essentials I need to get to complete my summer wardrobe:

1. brown sandals
2. gold sandals
3. denim shirt
4. white light weight cardigan

What do you need to add to your summer wardrobe to make it more complete?

Enjoy your summer
Stay cool and fashionable!!

How About A Little Black and White For Your Day?!

It is no secret I ♥♥♥ black and white. I have used it as an accent in my home for years, and I don’t think I will ever quit using it in my own personal design.

If I see something in black and white I will almost always stop to see what it is, and how I could apply it in my home.

I love touches of black and white, but I also have a secret desire to paint a room all black with white moldings…..

My use of black and white is a little more light handed….

The entry and guest bathroom flooring is black and white marble.

In the guest bathroom is where you will see the most black and white in my home…….

Even the exterior of my home has a light touch of black and white……..

I used a black and white  awning stripe as a curtain to accent my small porch area.

In the striped dining room I chose to use black in the chandelier, pedestals and the monograms on the chair covers.

As you can see my home is decorated in Spring-like colors, but I still chose to ground it with a touch of black and white.

I use black picture frames, and I also use some black accents in decorative items such as lighting……

Black and white will always be a favorite of mine. If you are afraid to use it as a major player in your home, use it as I have, and use it with a light touch.

If you would like to see more black and white inspiration you can go to my Pinterest boards and get lots of ideas on how to use black and white! Just click on the words below!
