What is Love?

What is love? The answer comes to each of us in many different ways.

If we were to believe what we see on TV it would be a grand gesture of a spectacular gift of diamonds, flowers and chocolates all tied up in a pretty package.

Having been in love with the same man for over 44 years I know what love is in it’s truest form.

Love is not the grand gestures as mentioned above , but it is the simple everyday things, the unspoken words, the little glance accompanied by a sweet grin and a twinkle in his blue eyes.

He shows me love every time he gets up from the table and does the dishes just because he knows I am a bit tired.

He shows me love when he goes to the grocery store because he knows I hate grocery shopping.

He shows me love when I get in my car and I notice it has been washed and polished and filled up with gas.

He shows me love when he goes to sleep in the other room because I am not sleeping well and  he does not want to disturb me because I  finally fell asleep.

He shows me love when he goes across town to buy the special humus I love even though he is not really sure what humus is.

He shows me love when after watching a sweet love story like the,”Notebook.” We sat in our seats until the theatre was empty, stood up to leave, took one look at each other and both started crying. You see, He is my Home!!!

He shows me he loves me when he paints a room three times to get the perfect green, just for me.

He shows me love when he does all of these things and never mentions that he did them, he does not want accolades or anything in return, he just does these things because he loves me.

He loves me unselfishly and unconditionally. He loves me in the truest sense of the word. He is forever my love forever my valentine.

A New Blog and A Fun Place To Shop!!

There is a new blog in blog land or at least fairly new to me. I really enjoy my visits there and I thought you all might also.

It is called Proper Hunt! She did a post the other day on Land’s End. I know most of us think about the great monogrammed totes that they have, but they also carry some fun home items.

This Spring stripes are being featured not only in clothing but in home decor. That makes this girl verrrrrry happy.

The Shopping God’s Were With Me!!!

I actually had another post scheduled to post for today. The post was titled, “I need HELP!”

My request for help was to help me find an object for my home. It is an object that many of you might question, but trust me on this, when you see where it is going you will understand why I wanted this little guy.

I was on the look for the last three days for one of these:

 

After googling and investigating different leads I found out that they had these at Pier I about 6 months ago, but they were no longer listed on-line.

I figured if I were to find one it would be pure luck by going in and finding the last one on display at a Pier I.

Yesterday the shopping god's were with me!!!

 I was having a fun day with my friend and we, of course went into Pier I to check it out. At first there was no elephant to be found. I did a last little look  around the store and there he was!!!

We asked if they were having a sale soon because he was marked $99.00.

That was more than I wanted to pay, but was willing to pay that after my friend reminded me of how perfect it was and it was exactly what I wanted and had been looking for.

My wonderful friend told the clerk that they no longer had them on line. Sooooooo, the clerk did a price check and he was $39.99, “Sold!” Happy Dance ensues!!!

My friend said that the elephant seemed to make me so happy that she thought maybe she should get one just to have that happy feeling, even though she did not desire one at all. We laughed about that!!

I  am now the proud owner of  a wicker elephant table!!! Yay!! Don’t you just love when that happens.
