Using Gift Wrap & Ribbons As A Christmas Decoration

When it comes to ribbons, and gift wrap I am like a kid in a candy store.

Each year I add to my black and white  awning striped signature gift wrap.

I use this as a base and also throughout the entire year for all my gift wrapping.

I like to coordinate my wrappings just like I would for fabric in a room.

If you have to constantly take out your gift wrap to use it, why not use it as part of your Christmas décor?

Let me show you what I mean…….

I put all of mine together in a French market basket and keep it on display.

It is always at my finger tips, but looks decorative until I need it again.

A few gifts wrapped and waiting for their ribbons and bows!

Guess what I do with all of my ribbons?

By placing them in a basket I have everything ready to go.

I have another small basket that I keep the scissors, tape and wire. I use it as my little tool basket.

Everything remains neat and tidy as well as decorative.

Last years paper had lots of red since I did a red and white Christmas color scheme.

Let me show you how I coordinated the papers and ribbons for 2012……

Do you coordinate your wrapping papers and ribbons for the Holidays?

  2. Hi Kathysue,
I love the black and white paper. I use brown appear all year long and change the ribbon. This year it's a black and white ribbon with the natural brown and something special and unique to top it off.

  3. I try to have all of my gifts under the tree wrapped in the same, or coordinating paper but I change it from year to year...like fragrance I don't seem to be able to find a signature one. Love the black and white!

  5. Your gift wrap is gorgeous Kathysue and if I had that great market basket I'd be tempted to put mine out too. Except, my wrapping leaves something to be desired:-) Years ago I always used gold wrap and burgundy ribbon and it looked lovely. For many years now the presents weren't put under the tree until evening of the 24, so I became less particular. I have 2 daughters and when they were little Santa wrapped one daughter's in red tissue and the other in green. No need for tags for little non readers and that inexpensive tissue could wrap any shape gift.
Now with the grands I have continued the tradition, one daughter's family gets all of their gifts in red paper of some design and the others in green. No bows or ribbon, although this year some gifts will have to be put out early and so I will have to ribbon them up:-)

I look forward to seeing how you decorate this year, you always do a marvelous job and put so much thought into it all. Have a joyous Christmas season.

  6. I bought a whole bunch of wrapping paper and did the same--I put them in a tall burlap bag that I use for recycling. Now it's ready and available! Love your paper choices! So Kathysue! ~Delores
