The Pit-Fall of Writing A Blog During The Holidays!

Yes, there is a pit-fall if you write a blog during this time of year.

You get all inspired about the Holidays, you write down all of your plans,  all of your ideas not just for  your wonderful readers, but for yourself too.

By time the Holiday actually gets here you are DONE, at least mentally!!!

It feels as if you have already, planned, decorated, cooked the meal, set the table, and even eaten the meal.

The reality is none of the above except the planning has actually taken place.

It is almost anti-climatic!!

Do any of you feel that way?

I think we need to have our Thanksgiving like the Canadians do, in  October. That way there would be more time between the two holidays.

I know I will get all excited once I start cooking, and think about my family arriving, but I am being honest here I need to get my mo-jo back!!

So this morning I am calling in the troops.......

I bet you didn’t know there were really Thanksgiving Elves, did you? Well there are, and I have called in mine for help!

May the Thanksgiving Elves be with
YOU Too!!!!

  2. I hear you, Kathysue. I also feel I am being bombarded with Christmas ideas at the same time so it make it even more exhausting!

  4. We've been up to our ears in holiday bouquets since April so needless to say, we're a little over decorating by the time Thanksgiving comes around. It will take more than elves to get our spirits going again...

  5. I need some elves too. Nothing like getting the flu right before Thanksgiving! But, wait! I do have elves.
Aaron and Ashley will prepare most of the food and Mr. A will help. I just have to set the table. But I'm just done! After the gourmet club dinner on Saturday night (the dishes are finally washed and put away) I'm just exhausted! Really looking forward to time with family though. Have a wonderful holiday, and stay well!

  8. You are right- with all the planning and prepping it does get a bit anti- climatic! I hope to find time to relax Thursday and be ready for the next phase! I need some elves too! Mine moved far enough away that they can't help anymore!

  10. Question, how many trips to the market does it take to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner? Answer, always one more than I am willing to make. Ugh. I need goat cheese.

  11. Thanksgiving elves..huh? Can I borrow a few for Christmas? Yes, I know the feeling..think its just a feeling of being spreading ourselves thin and trying to do it all. I am sure you are going to pull off a fabulous Thanksgiving spread. Wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

  14. I do like that our Canadian Thanksgiving is in October. It makes Thanksgiving and Christmas two completely separate celebrations. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Kathysue!

  16. I could sure use a couple of elves just about now! I do agree that in blogland things happen much sooner than I'm used to. I don't have much Christmas decorating finished and I feel so behind...then I look at the calendar and realize there's lots of time! It all happens I guess. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours...enjoy your family!

  17. My elves just packed up and left bc they said there was still so much to do with all of these people coming. They went on strike and took the twinkies with them. :)
