There is Change In The AIR!!

tumblr_ltol0bANUh1qc01buo1_500

How many of you are pinning away on Pinterest!? I got an invitation from Pinterest quite awhile ago, and have witnessed some changes for the better as well as seeing  a lot more participants from fellow bloggers from blog land.

One thing I have noticed in my own experience is I am finding myself more intrigued with the discoveries on Pinterest than I am in blog land. Not to say that I have given up on blog land, but lately I am more inspired  by  the images I am finding over on Pinterest.

There are such wonderful varieties of taste and subject matters that can be found on Pinterest. All of which are represented with a beautiful image.

I am not saying this to offend any of my hardworking fellow bloggers. I am right there with you. I am just being honest, and hopefully opening up a dialogue of how Pinterest is effecting me and the rest of YOU, my readers and fellow bloggers.

As a creative group of like-minded people we tend to be very visual. It makes sense that the beautiful images that we see on Pinterest will spur us on to become more creative, and excited about upcoming projects or dreams that we have for our lives and our own homes.

I personally have noticed that I am getting more new followers each day on my Pinterest boards than I am here on my blog. So……… my question to you all is……….

......Are you finding that you are more excited about what you see on Pinterest than you are in blog land lately?  Are you becoming less interested in what fellow bloggers have to say, or are you still taking the time to read blog post?

Blogging has been such a wonderful gift to my life and I will forever be grateful. I feel that things are going to be changing in the near future for we bloggers. I am not sure if it will be a good change or just something that is different.

In talking to a few of my fellow bloggers that have been blogging for close to 2-3years I have found that we are all finding it harder to get inspired these days.

It is harder and harder to think of anything new that has not already been covered by our self or another blogger.

I know I strive to stay relevant, and hopefully bring a different take on certain subjects as I know you all do too.
Change is always hard, and when you are not certain where the change might be taking you, it becomes even harder. I am going to go along for the ride because……….

......Change can be good, and we should always keep an open mind. So for now, I am keeping my eyes, and ears open to the sights and sounds of change.

Angel Wings And Other Fine Feathered Things

Every year right after Halloween I go shopping with a friend to Walmart!! Yes! you heard right, Walmart. Why? you might ask. Well, we like to go there to see what they have for Christmas ornaments, wrapping and ribbon.

This year was no exception, they had a wonderful array of colors, and designs in their ornaments. I wish I had taken pictures of some of my favorites.

For my dining room and kitchen area I am going to have an angel wing theme.

Actually I should probably clarify……..
I saw this image last year, and I fell in love with it………..

I have a special fascination with angel wings so I was naturally drawn to this image.

I knew this would be in my decorations somewhere this year, and the dining room chairs will be a perfect place to have these little lovelies.
You can order them HERE if you are interested.

I actually used feathers in my entry hall last year so it will be an easy visual transition into the dining room.

Since white feathers seem to be the direction I am going, when I went to Walmart I looked at  all the white, or frosty looking ornaments they had.

I was amazed at how pretty some of their ornaments were.

All the ornaments were ranging in price from $.97 to & $1.97.
I am here to tell you, if I did not know I was in Walmart, many of the ornaments could have passed for much more expensive ornaments that I have seen in   Christmas specialty shops.

I like to keep my elements pretty tight so I purchased some fun white feathered balls, white frosted pine cones and a couple of clear iridescent,  sparkly ornaments….

I am not totally sure how I am going to incorporate them, but I know they will work with the overall look. At that price I had to buy them.

They also had beautiful sparkly ribbon for $4.97 for 25ft. It is so pretty. I purchased the white, but I think I have to go back and purchase some of the lime green!

This years Christmas dining room will have a snowy, ethereal look to it. This should be fun!!!! My mind is starting to spin!!!! How about you all? Are you starting to formulate plans for this years Holiday season?

I know it feels a bit early for some and then there are probably those of you who are well on  your way. I think I probably fall somewhere in the middle!!

It is a bit cold and rainy today so I am totally in the mood to ……..

A LITTLE SHINE FOR MY THANKSGIVING TABLESETTING

In my last post I talked about my plans for my Thanksgiving table. It will have a dark lime and dark brown/umber color scheme.

The feeling is going to be a bit more rustic than my past centerpieces. I decided to have the elements of wood along with some natural elements such as artichokes, limes, nuts and twigs in a wooden box.

Now that I have the main core of the centerpiece figured out, I need to add some shine.
With all of these elements the one metal that came to my mind was pewter……..

As seen in the above image, I think the warm glimmer is such a perfect accent with wood and white ceramics.
Since I will be using my white dishes I think this will be a perfect choice for this years table.

I really like the way the silver ware is placed in the following images!

I could add some sprigs of rosemary in the arrangement to tie in this look for my table.

I think that any of the above ideas will work nicely with my over all design plan!!

I am well on my way! I am going to go  “THRIFTING,”  for some pewter pieces with a good friend of mine tomorrow. Wish me luck!!
