2016 Christmas Gift Wrap and Ribbon

In our home it is officially the opening day for the Christmas season!

Let the falalaing begin!!

For those of you who know me you know I ♥♥♥ This time of year.

The tree is up the skirt is under the tree and the Christmas pillows are all out!!

You might remember my pillow choices from a previous post....

One of the things I enjoy just as much as the decorating is pulling together my wrapping papers and ribbons for the season.

Once the tree skirt  is put into place I am good to go.

Speaking of skirts!!

This year I could not use the basket I usually use and I could not find a skirt that I loved so I improvised and purchased a very plush, heavy weight coverlet that looks like a cable knit sweater. That way I can use it after the Holidays on our bed.

(found at Homegoods)

Now for the fun part, the Christmas wrapping papers, ribbons and tags
OH MY!!

Here they are all lined up ready for me to use......

I am so excited!!

You will notice I always use my black and white awning striped paper, it is my signature wrapping paper.

I like to keep my ribbons and wrapping supplies in decorative baskets, so when they are out, and I have a mess all around me they still look decorative. YES I am that girl. I have to have PRETTY, what can I say....

It makes it so much easier for me when it comes to wrapping gifts if everything is together....

I have gift tags, scissors, tape and any type of decorative addition I might use on packages available in a basket.

This year I loved my new gift tags so much I used some of them on our tree.

In years past I have always used this method. I have a French market basket that I keep out with the wrapping paper in it and it becomes part of my Christmas decor. Here are just a couple of years combinations...

AND

Now that I have all my gift wrapping paper and ribbons combined I can start wrapping some packages. I can hardly wait to put them under the tree.

 BTW:
I find it cheaper to order bolts of paper and ribbons.

HAPPY 2016 THANKSGIVING

 From our Home To Yours

This years table is set with a natural linen tablecloth with silver thread running through it. I used woodgrained, silver square chargers and all white plates. The glasses are vintage brown glassware.

This years centerpiece is all edible except for the lime green spider mums. I used a base of nuts and dried cranberries for the pecan and caramel apples. I also used twigs with leaves for the sticks.

I can hardly wait to see my Grandsons faces when I tell them they can eat whatever they want!!

The cheese board is waiting for the cheese and crackers to be placed. The champagne glasses  are ready for pomegrante seeds floating in your beverage of choice.

 The dessert table is ready!!

Now for the family to arrive and we are good to go!!

Stay Stylish And Comfortable on Thanksgiving Day

What Should We Wear?........

Some people like to dress up for Thanksgiving, however, for me, I like to dress comfortable yet stylish.

After all if you are like me we are the ones in the kitchen so chances are we will be a bit warmer, and on our feet a lot, so comfort is key for me.

There is a formula I usually wear that will consist of:
  •  Lightweight sweater
  •   Pair pants, or skirt
  •  Comfy cute flats
  •  Fun/Fancy necklace
  • Always a pop of color

I have pulled together some casual outfits for Thanksgiving day for you all whether you are the guest, or the hostess, there is something for everyone.....

This outfit would be more for a guest to wear, but for me as the hostess I would be wearing a cute pair of loafers, and the bracelets as nice as they are would not work in the kitchen for me. I love the colors in this outfit, very Fallish with a pop of color.

This outfit is so me. I love the Vneck sweater, it looks light weight and colorful. The necklace is perfect and adding the plaid pant makes this outfit fun to wear. Personally I would add a leopard flat just because I love leopard flats.

Simple, easy to wear, it has comfort and color with a touch of fun with the leopard flats. I have all of these pieces in my wardrobe and would be totally comfortable in this outfit.

Are you seeing a formula starting to evolve? Comfort, classic pieces combined with fun shoes and fancy necklace. I would have to switch out the heels for my flats, but every thing else would be perfect for me if I were the guest, but as the cook the blazer would have to be replaced with a button up cardigan that I could move easily in and push up my sleeves.

I still need to get my leopard skirt, but if I had one I would wear it for sure!! I would add a fun sparkly necklace to this outfit, and a pair of red patent flats to add that fun pop of color.

I would have to change the cut on the pants for me and of course a multi strand of pearls to make it more me.

This all works for me as a guest, because can you imagine mashed potatoes and gravy caught in all those bangles? Oh my !!!

A simple skirt, fun sweater , cute flats and necklace and add the comfort value and this would work for the hostess or the guest.

Perfection in my book!!
Loving those shoes!!

This outfit shows my formula of:
Comfort
Fancy necklace
Fun and comfortable shoes
(missing a pop of color so I would switch out the sweater to a bright mustard sweater)

I have yet to pick out what I am wearing, but I can guarantee that it will be comfortable with a touch of fancy, fun and a pop of color!!!

All of the above outfits can be found on my....
