Family Room Update and a NEWS FLASH!!

We are still working on the family room plans. I am waiting for the sofa fabric to come in, but have made all the decisions on the design of the sofa and the ottoman.

I also have made a decision on the winter pillow combinations.

The four fabrics on the right are for pillows and a seat cushion on a small cream wooden chair.

The first vine pattern will be a  pillow for the white chair on the right side of my fireplace.

The buffalo check will be the seat cushion on the opposite side of the room.

The linen with the stripes will be an over-sized lumbar pillow spanning almost the length of the sofa.

The embroidered Suzani will be on a pillow for the white chair on the left side of the family room, closest to the buffalo check.

Of course this could change along the way, but right now it feels pretty solid.

 NEWS FLASH:

A DESIGN MIRACLE HAS OCCURRED!

Some exciting news, at least for me! My sweet hubby is on board to change our wainscoting, and paint color. I can hardly believe it. Trust me when I say this is a DESIGN MIRACLE!!!

Here is a picture of what I am planning on having him do……..

The difference between the two is in the way the baseboards are made.

I have been talking about this for a very long time, and he would never get on board, but now that he is retired he will have more time to work on it.

This will truly be a labor of love because he does not really enjoy this type of work even though he is very good at it.

As far as the color goes, I am making swatches of some colors in a creamy linen. Light and bright with a contrast to the upcoming white wainscoting.

I always like to have a good size swatch with at least 2-3 coats of paint so I can move them around the room. Poster board works great for this.

I am still waiting on a couple more samples to make a decision on my Spring/Summer pillow combination. The one I am most excited about getting is the Mary McDonald’s new fabric line for Schumacher in…..

That is the latest update on our family room. I will keep you all posted as we make a little headway.
