It sounds so simple doesn’t it? Yet, often we forget to just stop and REST.
We live in a society that seems to think being busy is a medal of honor.
Maybe it is time to just stop!
Maybe it is time to stop, and be with your creator.
If you are finding your life to feel a bit unbalanced, maybe, just maybe it is time to rest in him.
Yes I do. Sunday is my designated "rest day" I do whatever I want and it means being in my robe, sipping coffee until the afternoon then so be it. Its my day to recharge and get ready for a busy week ahead!

Oh boy, did I ever need this post. I just don't relax well and rest escapes me. Try to rest my body and the mind just runs on at a hundred miles an hour. Determined to sit down and practice my dulcimer after church and probably gluing up a box for a prototype. I'd love to say No to the box but …….
ReplyDeleteSo true...
ReplyDeleteRemember when Sundays were truly a day of rest, when stores weren't open and Sunday dinners were spent with extended family and everyone just hung around resting and visiting with each other?
I am glad I am old enough to remember those days!
Blessings to you my sweet friend!
Love this post today.
XO
I agree totally. Being busy does seem to be the norm these days and people like to one up the other with their busy-ness. I like to remember the acronym

So, when I'm too "busy" I always ask myself what is disordering my life and ask the Lord to please help me!
Thanks Kathysue.
This is my biggest challenge. I have to learn to say no! Good food for thought here, Kathysue!

ReplyDeleteWonderful post!!
ReplyDeleteKathysue, my devotional reading this morning was on this very topic - rest. "I offer rest for your soul, as well as refreshment for you mind and body." It's all found when we find our fulfillment in Him! Thanks for so beautifully reminding us that His rest is always available to us when we seek Him.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous reminder. I love each quote!
