Making a Fall Arrangement With Curly Willow

Do you like curly willow!? Well if you do, you are going to think I am a very lucky girl.

Hubby, and I took a walk in the park that is right behind our house.  This was not just a walk for exercise, but a walk to go gathering some branches to put in my entry hall.

There are two curly willow trees in our park so of course I had to bring home some of those gorgeously curvy, and curly branches for a touch of Fall in my entry hall.

I kept it simple by placing two cream plates on the corbels, and one large cream vase to hold the curly willow.

The branches have a combination of dark brown, light brown and a really pretty green.

The jury is still out on whether I think it is sculptural, or a little scary looking.

Each day I am liking it a little better. A good blogging friend of mine suggested that maybe I should take a few branches out of the bottom. I think I will try that tomorrow!

Next time you go on a walk, take some pruners and you might be surprised at what you can create!!

  4. I have been collecting eucalptus where I walk and love it but just found out last week that it was poisonous to cats! Darn, out it all went. I love Curly Willow and you are quite lucky to have such a handy supply. I think it adds interest to every bouquet.

  9. I do love curly willow branches and find them to be a must-have decorative item. I also agree with the blogger on thinning out in the lower part to make it more sculpural. Lovely foyer!

  12. Although I don't have any, I DO like curly willow. I don't have any because I'd probably poke my eye out with it. It looks great in your entry.

  14. So pretty! I may have told you this before but my mom used to drag us into the woods in NC to collect moss for her arrangements. We used to roll our eyes but always secretly had a good time!
