A Little Christmas White for Your Weekend!

White!!! Just the word reminds me of peaceful, clean, snow!!! It must be the time of year.

An all white Christmas decor can be so beautiful. The lack of the traditional bright colors truly has a peaceful feel to it.

When using white just mixing up the textures can make it interesting.

4 (400x265)

5 (300x389)
Notice how just a sprig of greenery makes it so festive for the holidays.

I love the great planter that the tree is placed in. I think the icicles make this tree perfect!!!

Notice the texture in the throw and the shiny almost pearl-like balls in a clear cylinder vase.

All of this is so simple yet it comes off as understated elegance. That is perfect styling to me.

I hope you have enjoyed this lovely white, soothing and peaceful looking post for your viewing pleasure. Happy weekend!!!

Holiday Hint:

Whenever you choose to use a monochromatic color scheme make sure you always vary your textures to keep the room interesting.

Repeat elements throughout the room.

Keep it simple in order to give a more peaceful look.

Pretty and Simple Ideas for Christmas

I have a theory about Christmas decorating. I feel you either need to go simple or over the top. This post is going to show some images that I found that I think are simple, but so pretty and festive.

1 (400x400)
Beautiful silver goblets with moss and miniature trees. Small apples gently tossed on the mantle. I think this is such a simple look and yet, it remains festive and elegant at the same time.

4 (400x400)
I love that this vignette is using natural elements from outside. Branches and berries placed in simple clear cylinder vases. You add Christmas balls and votives and you will have a sparkling vignette.

5 (2) (300x357) (300x357)
This is one of my favorites. They used cylinders without bottoms and added white lights.  Just look at the sparkle. Be sure and get the white lights that have white wires. I think this could be used in just about any style of home. Love this one!!!!

By adding sprigs of fresh greenery this armoire becomes a focal point for the Christmas holiday.

6 (400x400)
I have had this in my file for a very long time. I think for a guest room this simple touch would make your guest feel very special.

7 Tria Giovan (400x400)
Very traditional and simple. Greenery on the window sill lined with brass candleholders and white candles. So simple to do.

12 (300x357)
We can all do this!! Simple and elegant.

8 (400x400)
Three topiaries add green, but look how they have used greenery to hold back the draperies.

After looking at all of these images can you see that simple easy to do decorations can give you a wonderfully festive and sometimes elegant look for the Christmas holiday?

Holiday Hint: Having  un-scented tea-light candles in mass and using  simple clear holders is one of the quickest ways to make your home look festive and don't forget background holiday music.

Buy your tea lights and tea light holders at Ikea for the best price. At these prices we can all afford beautiful candlelight.
