Casual Outfits For Thanksgiving Day

We think a lot about what to fix for Thanksgiving dinner and how to set the table, but if you are like me figuring out what to wear is usually last minute because I am so caught up in the prep.

I thought it would be fun to take a look at some outfits on the casual side for Thanksgiving day.

Whenever I look at an outfit that is already put together I look at the concept.

Most of the time I would not wear the outfit in it’s entirety but the overall concept is appealing to me.

For instance in this outfit love all the elements, but I won’t be wearing skinny jeans tucked into boots.

PROPORTION

First I am not skinny, second, with my short legs wearing boots like that would cut me into thirds and I have short legs so I would look out of proportion.

Proportion is something that is so over looked when dressing.

If you are not tall and lean and have long legs and still insist on wearing boots try wearing boots that are the same color as your pants, and that will give you a long lean look.

The other option is to wear a bootie that comes just right above your ankle with your pants tucked in.

Start looking at some pictures of women with jeans tucked in there boots and see if it cuts them in thirds or almost in half.

You will see what I mean about proportion. Just because it is on trend does not mean we have to wear it!

So with that being said, I would wear a nice boot-cut jean with booties instead. Everything else could work for me. and I think it looks like a nice comfy, outfit for Tday.

This outfit is so ME. I would not change one thing about it.

I think a classic white blouse and jean is a uniform of sorts and you can add so many different pieces to make it look different.

In fact it is my go-to uniform and usually topped with a cashmere sweater and I am good to go.

Love a classic cream cable knit sweater ( in fact I am on the hunt for just the right one).

Pair it with some camel pants cute leopard flats, gold bangle, and pearl studs and I am done!! Love it, simple, classic and comfy.

A classic buccle jacket in fun colors with trim and then pop a colored belt on the jeans takes it up a notch, so does the ruffled blouse.

Belts are a fun way of taking a simple outfit up a notch, notice the touch of gold around her waist.

Love this whole ensemble, but would change the shoes to my leopard flats, they go with just about everything.

Speaking of leopard flats here are a couple that would work if you are looking for some.

I chose shoes for comfort, and a reasonable price point. I also like the calf-hair, and a smaller leopard print on my shoes……

I also kept the style fairly classic because once you buy a pair of leopard flats you will wear them for many years to come. I purchased my first pair 12-15 years ago and still wear them and they still look great.

Notice the toe is not too pointy, round or squared. This classic slipper flat will last for years.

If you are in need of some inspiration in the fashion department I have several boards on Pinterest that you might find a few things that might work for you.

All of the above outfits can be found on my fashion boards on Pinterest, just click the links below:

As you can see I have quite a few fashion boards, in fact more than even I realized.

I love fashion almost as much as I do design. After all pulling together an outfit is very much like pulling together a room.

You start with a good solid base and accessorize.

I hope this gives you a little inspiration for what you might wear during this holiday season!
