After reading your post today, I collected my glass balls (spread around the living room) and put them in a nice bowl. Ah....breathing space!

I've been known to buy things (furniture even!) because I liked it and figured I'd find a place somewhere. How did THAT end up? Well....let's just say for a time my closets held an antique dresser, a bookcase and various small pieces of furniture. I even had an antique highchair, though no children or grandchildren.

I eventually put the highchair in the dining room for a while and put a stuffed rabbit in it, complete with a small table setting. Admittedly, THAT was years ago. I long-since have donated the rabbit, along with the highchair. Lesson learned. (I hope!)

Your blog and good sense help so much. Keep it up! Love your clothes advice, too.June from Oregonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07043369751215439623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5210558362945352459.post-10652529592023434082017-06-14T04:26:59.612-07:002017-06-14T04:26:59.612-07:00Hi Kathysue,

Maybe not fill your home with meaningless items from Homegoods. Put out items that have history or a story behind them. So many of my friends have things out & when I ask them where they got it, they say Homegoods, Pier One or any of a dozen other stores. When I ask them why they bought it they say "because it was cute". Or they buy them because they think a particular surface needed something. If a surface feels empty you can always put something in a vase & put it out.
If your home is supposed to be a reflection of you, then put items out that are from your "story". Your history.
Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14407402369754121296noreply@blogger.com
