We had several room plans ready…I had done my research! Well, we decided in the end that for everyday use it would be too difficult to get in and out of a banquette or real arm chair. They would be lovely and fine for a sometimes-used dining area, but not for heavy every day use. Does that make sense? I mean, you would "stick" to the fabric every time you got in and out from the table! I love, love the look, but for me it just wasn't practical. Can't wait to see if you do go with something on this order!!!Libby https://www.blogger.com/profile/11556491482494737313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5210558362945352459.post-86184468873935643652014-03-06T06:04:05.843-08:002014-03-06T06:04:05.843-08:00Love the idea of the banquettes...they are so maki...Love the idea of the banquettes...they are so making a great comeback from the 50's with fabulous designs!
Facebooking and pinning this post! It adds a touch of elegance and a variety of seating that prevents the room from looking staid. Wonderful and practical in a kitchen or breakfast room too, it provides the convenience of the 1970s "diner" with much more panache.

I just had a flashback. (It happens when you are as old as I.) In the breakfast area of the home I owned in the 70s, I used an antique settle bench on one side of a long harvest table. I think it would still work today in a country home.

XO, Victoria
Victoriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06791296934306530073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5210558362945352459.post-77894569756852125462014-03-06T04:56:56.235-08:002014-03-06T04:56:56.235-08:00I have had an upholstered settee and two wicker wi...I have had an upholstered settee and two wicker wing chairs in my breakfast area for several years. We love them. They are so comfortable and great for a lengthy card game, a glass of wine after work, or lingering after a wonderful weekend breakfast. I have always loved this look and I am happy to see others do too! Thanks for the wonderful inspiration.
