Hello, remember me!? I'm still around and I will be checking in via the blog once in awhile. Today felt like a good day to reach out! For those that stay in touch with me via Facebook and mail, thank you for caring enough to send me emails and private messages. It sure is nice to think I am being thought of and missed.

It is that time of year when I start purging my closet, planting flowers for the upcoming holidays, start browsing for Christmas gifts, and ideas and making my own plans for how I want to decorate our Holiday home.
Our weather here in California is still warm during the days but cool mornings and evenings. Still warm enough for just a cardigan or light weight sweatshirt to keep warm. I love this time of year. I purged my closet and put away most of my summer clothes, but have to admit I am sitting here in flip flops and could have on shorts and be pretty comfy.
I have fun revisiting my closet and cashmere sweaters. It's like meeting up with an old friend each year.
We have out a few white pumpkins and of course Mums on our porch. I've switched out my great room pillows to their fall look and the mantel has some cute little white pumpkins lined up in a row.
Yesterday I planted the cyclamen and ornamental cabbage out back, soon I will be planting them in the front too.
We are enjoying our walks around the neighborhood and it was fun seeing the grapes and the harvest. The grapevines are turning beautiful colors of golds to reds.
This time of year always gets my mind spinning in different directions, but trust me I don't rush. I am more of a planner, enjoy the process kind of gal. I hope you all are enjoying your fall and pre-holiday time too.
Hi Kathysue,
ReplyDeleteThis was a nice surprise. Glad to see you’re doing well.
Your newly planted flowers are lovely. I haven’t done much. I’m in the process of updating the laundry room & it’s affecting the rest of the rooms nearby. When you empty a room that stuff has to go somewhere. But it should be done in time to decorate for Christmas.
Now that I see your cute white pumpkins maybe I could just pick up a few. What would it hurt?
All your readers enjoy hearing from you! Since you are not beholden to sponsors who jam-pack your posts with irritating ads, you can write what you want when you want to!
ReplyDeleteBut still, we miss you when you don’t post!
Your newly planted cyclamen is gorgeous. I stopped by the garden center today and they had several tables full. I was tempted, but don't trust that the cool weather will stay around. I usually plant white cyclamen and it takes me through the spring.
ReplyDeleteIt’s good to hear from you, Kathysue! I’m with Desert Diva. Your blog is so nice to read WITHOUT those annoying ads. I’ve slowed down on my posts, as well, as my life has become quite happily busy. I just post when I want. (Love retirement!).
ReplyDeleteI purged my closet as I switched to warmer clothes, too, and it is a freeing feeling. I’ve also been thinking about Christmas decorating. I believe I’ll be going with my recent love of white, silver and gold as the base colors with citron green as my pop of color. (Of course there will also be a hint of red.) I’m looking forward to what you’re planning! I enjoy reading about your thinking process. Happy Halloween and Thanksgiving!
It’s good to hear from you. I have missed seeing your posts in my inbox. Looks like your new place is agreeing with both of you. Your home and garden is lovely as always. I especially love the simplicity of your mantel....very elegant. Enjoy your day! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi, it's so nice to see one of your posts. Hoping to see more. I have always enjoyed your interesting and informative blog, your ideas are always so creative. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteI was so glad to see your post in my list of favorites this morning. I have been missing you and wondered what was keeping you away. Love the fall pillows on your sofa and your plants have given me the inspiration I need to get my beds done. Hope you won't stay away too long.
ReplyDeleteThose roses on your beautiful coffee table are so pretty! The mantel and sofa look so nice too. I love sweater weather and seeing some favorite cold weather clothes again. Nice time of year with thoughts of the coming holidays. Thanks for checking in, Kathysue!
ReplyDeleteHey Kathysue!....been following you on IG....hope you are enjoying your Fall season....we are having cooler days here...love your plantings...wish I could plant Cyclamen..but the cold weather is not a good thing for them, so I enjoy them indoors! Happy Fall!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathysue, I read your article about small bathrooms on Pinterest . I have a 6’4” 6’1” room with a pocket door and want to turn it into a half bath. The door is centered to the space and directly across from the door is a big window on the outer wall. I was thinking I’d put the toilet on the wall to the right but don’t know if I should place the sink off center across from the toilet and go with a pedestal or small 24” cabinet? I will be doing the tiling and all finish work myself (Did a guest bath in my house and it came out gorgeous gutted the whole thing so I’m up for this). Any suggestions for layout? Thank you, Elaine
ReplyDeleteI really like to give big thanks for creating such a wonderful article. I have read this article. Everyone should read. Thanks for sharing.
